Research and writing
Science writing is Green Ink’s flagship service. We’ve a reputation for writing that is well informed and enjoyable to read.
Short communications, synthesizing the results of research for policy and decision makers, are a speciality. But we also take on longer assignments, including whole reports or books. We write for websites, blogs and e-newsletters as well as for hard-copy publications. And we can command a variety of styles and assume different degrees of knowledge, depending on our audience.
Our first task, in taking on a new assignment, is to collect and sift relevant information. This can either be done at a distance, or by visiting and interviewing you and your partners (in which case we’ll also take photographs). Next, we make notes and create an outline. Then we put our heads down and start drafting. Once we’re satisfied we have a good first draft, we’ll ask for your comments. After that comes revision, integrating your feedback – and a final edit to add polish.
At meetings, we can supply a team of writers to cover the full range of communication needs. This can include an interactive blog, charting the meeting’s progress and interviewing key participants for the benefit of those who can’t attend in person.
