Writing, editing and layout on pre-meeting ‘teaser’ reports for the World Economic Forum annual meeting; attending Forum private sessions for the consumer industries and taking notes; writing up the sessions and laying out the post-meeting, confidential reports.
The World Economic Forum is a Swiss non-profit organization based in Geneva. Its mission is “improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas”. While the Forum hosts a range of events and workshops around the world each year, it is best known for its annual meeting, which takes place at the end of January in Davos, a ski resort in the Swiss Alps.
Green Ink has worked with the Forum consumer industries team to produce reports on the annual meeting in Davos for the past eight years. The reports are aimed specifically at public sector participants and private sector partners in the agriculture, food and beverage, retail and consumer goods sectors.
We write, edit and lay out two reports for each annual meeting. The first is a pre-meeting ‘teaser’ to inform people about the forthcoming events, and the second summarises the particular sessions, outcomes and next steps that are of interest to the consumer industries. For the main report, a Green Ink writer has attended the relevant sessions in Davos, written a draft, edited it in consultation with the Forum team, and laid out the resulting document ready for printing and electronic distribution. Both reports are produced under tight time pressure since it is important to communicate with the partners just before and straight after the annual meeting.
