To produce a USB flash drive, with an interactive welcome screen and search facility, loaded with digital resources for participants at a United Nations conference as part of a long-term communications support relationship covering multiple projects requiring writing, editing, translation, design, layout, print and digital services.
The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) was set up to communicate key information about climate change impacts and mitigation measures to policy-makers, government officials, business leaders and other important audiences within the developing world.
The seven-year programme set up in 2010 by the UK Department for International Development (DfID) and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DGIS), which provided joint funding, and CDKN subsequently expanded its donor base.
CDKN was managed by an alliance of organizations led by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in London.
This was one of many projects we delivered as part of our long-term relationship providing communications support to CDKN’s public affairs function. This support was provided under a series of framework agreements over the course of the programme from 2012 through to the end of 2017, when the programme will come to its planned end.
This particular digital project involved the design, coding and production of 650 USBs containing a collection of CDKN resources for distribution at a conference. This resource collection had approximately 270 items, including research reports, policy briefs, CDKN publications and CDKN working papers and reports. The resource collection had a welcome screen with an interactive interface that enabled the reader to easily search by title, publication type, region, language or theme, which we designed and coded. We managed the production and delivery of the devices to the conference, Habitat III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, which was held in Quito, Ecuador, in October 2016.
CDKN has received much positive feedback from donors on the quality of their communications products. CDKN’s Global Public Affairs Co-ordinator Mairi Dupar told us that she was “very impressed with the job Green Ink did”.
