Interactive blogs
A more inclusive reform process
Interactive blogging is a superb tool for broadening participation at meetings. The blog provides a simple and immediate link to the outside world, enabling the many stakeholders who can’t attend to keep in touch with the views of participants and add their own comments to the dialogue.
That was the experience of stakeholders in the reform process undertaken recently by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Green Ink was asked to run a blog at each of three successive meetings held in 2008 and 2009 to discuss the process. In each case, Green Ink’s science writer Sue Parrott attended, reporting on the main sessions and conducting video interviews with participants.
“Excellent work! I’ve really felt informed about the London event thanks to you”
Laura Ivers, Communications Officer, CGIAR Secretariat
